((-) Trump Just Did the Most ‘Trumpy’ Thing With Men Who Repaired DC’s Reflecting Pool…#@!#

President Trump invited the work crew that repaired the Reflecting Pool near the Lincoln Memorial to the Oval Office, where he presented them with signed hats and presidential challenge coins.

The restoration project was part of months of work across Washington in preparation for America’s 250th birthday celebration next year. The White House has highlighted the renovation efforts under the “Decline Is a Choice” initiative, showcasing before-and-after images of landmarks including Meridian Hill Park and Freedom Plaza.

The Oval Office Recognition

Trump had previously visited the Reflecting Pool worksite in May, where he shook hands with workers and distributed presidential challenge coins. The crews came from across the country to participate in the restoration effort.

During the May visit, Trump noted that workers removed 11 to 12 truckloads of garbage from the pool. “Our country is about beauty, cleanliness, safety, great people, not a filthy capital,” he said at the time.

Part of Broader Restoration Effort

The Reflecting Pool project represents one component of the “D.C. Safe and Beautiful” initiative, which has been rolling out renovations across the nation’s capital. The work included waterproofing and structural repairs to the iconic landmark.

This recognition follows a similar gesture in September, when Trump invited the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon into the Oval Office following a performance on the South Lawn. Trump presented the Marines with presidential challenge coins and thanked them for their service.
