President Donald Trump remains in “excellent health” and fully capable of performing his presidential duties, according to a medical report released after a comprehensive evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The examination, conducted by White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, included advanced cardiac imaging, CT scans, neurological assessments, and cancer screenings performed by a team of medical specialists. No significant abnormalities were identified during the evaluation.
What the Report Found
Trump weighed 238 pounds during the examination, with a body mass index of 29.7, just below the threshold for obesity at his height of 6 feet 3 inches. Physicians recommended continued attention to diet, exercise, and weight management.
The president’s cholesterol levels showed improvement, with a total reading of 143, down from previous measurements. Dr. Barbabella attributed the improvement to prescription medications including rosuvastatin and ezetimibe.
Trump completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a standard screening tool for cognitive function, and received a perfect score of 30 out of 30. “The results are consistent with previous cognitive evaluations and indicate no evidence of cognitive impairment,” Dr. Barbabella said.
Additional Health Details
Minor bruising on Trump’s hands was attributed to frequent handshaking combined with aspirin therapy, which doctors recommended continuing. His previously disclosed chronic venous insufficiency has improved, with only mild lower-leg swelling observed.
Presidential Health Transparency
While U.S. presidents are not legally required to disclose detailed medical records, administrations have traditionally released health summaries to provide transparency about a president’s fitness for office. Trump, who turns 80 next month, continues to maintain an active schedule of official meetings, travel, and public appearances.
