Breaking news alert from White House showing Trump Iran blockade policy emergency broadcast with news anchor reporting live

President Donald Trump received a McDonald’s delivery at the White House on Monday while discussing his administration’s tax policy and escalating rhetoric toward Iran.

The delivery, arranged through DoorDash, featured a worker wearing a “DoorDash Grandma” shirt who shared how Trump’s no-tax-on-tips legislation has benefited her family during her husband’s cancer treatment. The moment was livestreamed from the Oval Office as Trump highlighted the economic impacts of the policy on American workers.

What Happened

During the delivery interaction, a woman told reporters that the no-tax-on-tips law saved her family $11,000 in taxes this year. “I want to thank you for the No Tax on Tips. It has helped my family out immensely, and I definitely appreciate it,” she said. Trump used the moment to promote what he called the “One Big Beautiful Bill” and its worker benefits.

Iran Tensions Escalate

The president pivoted to foreign policy, stating firmly that “Iran will NOT have a nuclear weapon, and we’re going to get the dust back.” Trump indicated he was open to negotiations, adding, “I can tell you that we’ve been called by the other side. They’d like to make a deal, very badly.”

Earlier Monday, Trump announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and threatened to eliminate Iranian vessels that breach it. In a Truth Social post made 23 minutes after the blockade announcement, Trump claimed Iran’s Navy was “completely obliterated” with 158 ships destroyed.

“Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea,” Trump wrote. The president said the administration had not targeted Iran’s “fast attack ships” as they were not considered a significant threat.

The Policy Focus

Trump’s tax-on-tips initiative has become a centerpiece of his economic messaging to American workers in service industries. The Oval Office delivery served as a visual demonstration of the policy’s real-world impact on families.
