Judge Assigned to Fired FBI Director James Comey’s Case..#@#

A federal judge has been assigned to oversee the criminal case against fired FBI Director James Comey following new charges filed by the Justice Department.

U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan of the Eastern District of North Carolina was appointed to preside over the case. Flanagan was nominated by President George W. Bush in 2003 and has overseen thousands of cases throughout her judicial career.

Background on the Judge

Flanagan was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a federal district court judge in July 2003. Before her appointment to the bench, she served as a federal magistrate judge and worked at the law firm Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal in Washington, D.C., according to the ABA Journal.

According to Ballotpedia, Flanagan is considered right-leaning in her judicial philosophy. She will now oversee the proceedings in Comey’s case.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated that the indictment resulted from a year-long investigation that extends beyond an Instagram post.
