Sen. John Fetterman on Friday criticized fellow Democrat Graham Platner’s Senate candidacy in Maine during an interview with CNN’s Kasie Hunt that touched on allegations of sexual misconduct and offensive online behavior.
Platner, who is challenging Republican Sen. Susan Collins, has faced scrutiny over Nazi tattoos, controversial Reddit posts, allegations of emotional abuse, and sexually explicit messaging. The Pennsylvania Democrat used the interview to express his disapproval of party members defending Platner’s campaign.
What Happened on Air
Hunt appeared visibly uncomfortable as Fetterman detailed allegations about Platner’s online conduct. “Every Democrat knows P-Hustle has Nazi ink, was Captain D-k-Pic on Kik, abusive towards women and slandered American soldiers online,” Fetterman told The Post Friday, using a nickname he created for the candidate.
The conversation intensified when Fetterman referenced sexually explicit messaging Platner allegedly sent to women. Hunt pushed back, noting the network had not independently reported on those specific claims. “Did Senate Democrats discuss Graham Platner posting pictures of his…uh…you called it his dick…at…did you discuss this in a lunch?” Hunt asked.

Fetterman elaborated on the allegations, describing offensive statements Platner had made in past writings. Hunt responded with visible discomfort, remarking: “I’m glad my children aren’t old enough to watch this show, I gotta be honest.”
The Democratic Party Divide
Fetterman criticized Democrats who have defended Platner despite the mounting allegations ahead of Tuesday’s Maine Democratic primary. He said members of his party were choosing “to suppress their gag reflex for the ‘greater good.”
Platner is expected to advance from the Democratic primary despite the negative attention. The candidate previously maintained an account under the name Fetterman referenced on the private messaging app Kik, which has faced accusations of enabling sexual predators.
