In an exclusive interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump described his discussions with Xi as “very good” and stated that the commitment from China exceeded Boeing’s expectations
The trip marks Trump’s first visit to the country since 2017 and occurs amid rising tensions over trade, artificial intelligence, Taiwan, and the repercussions of the war with Iran. Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg was among the executives in the delegation. He recently stated that the trip represents “a meaningful opportunity” for the aircraft maker. Some reports noted that China was initially interested in buying 500 737 Max aircraft from Boeing. Trump returned to the United States on Friday morning after a high-stakes trip to China, and it didn’t take long for him to share a myriad of updates on the trip to Truth Social. Although Ortberg declined to specify the number of aircraft being discussed during a recent analyst call, he expressed strong confidence that if Trump and Xi reach an agreement, it will likely include some aircraft orders

TRUMP,” the president concluded. Trump also took an opportunity to touch on one of his favorite topics, the White House ballroom, saying that “China has a Ballroom, and so should the U.S.A.!”:

The man I am walking with is President Xi, of China, one of the World’s Great Leaders! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he added. During a face-to-face meeting with the Chinese leader, Trump admitted to Xi that he often calls him “a great leader,” though he is sometimes criticized for doing so.
“You are a great leader. I say it to everybody, you are a great leader. Sometimes people don’t like me saying it, but I say it because it’s true. I always say the truth,” Trump said.
